The last car park is at 2250 meters above sea level. From there we have about a 45-minute walk along an easy road to the viewpoint.
From here you have a fantastic view of the highest mountains of Andalusia and the Mediterranean coast on one side and the Sierra Nevada on the other. We have the summit of Mulhacen almost at our fingertips. Everything changes in the mountains: the nature, the air, the view of the world. A great place, great mountains. And at the foot of the highest peaks, the magnificent Alpujarra.
We’re off to the mountains and the Alpujarra from Nerja and the surrounding area in the next one. If anyone feels like joining, you are welcome, I will send you the details. How to spend your time in Sierra Nevada? You can ski, quite a few slopes are designed for beginners. Don’t have any equipment or clothes? No problem, we’ll even lend you a ski jacket and trousers on site. Don’t feel like skiing? How about snakes, bobsleighs, a ride up the mountain in a cable car? Or take a mountain walk with me and enjoy the snow and the views.
It takes 1 hour 40 minutes to get from Nerja (from your hotel/apartment) to the Sierra Nevada, 20 minutes less from Almunecar.
