Rehabilitation work begins on the Balcón de Europa

The restoration work on the Balcón de Europa has begun in order to preserve the tourist and historical enclave and to offer a better image for the enjoyment of residents and tourists who visit the Balcón de Europa promenade every day.

The restoration is being carried out by a construction company from Nerja, with a total investment of 85,239.60 euros. This project is co-financed by the City Council and the Department of Tourism of the Junta de Andalucía, with a specific subsidy destined for the conservation and improvement of tourist and cultural spaces, such as the Balcón de Europa.

The execution period for the works is approximately two months. The initial works have begun with the restoration of the steps of the main door of the Church of El Salvador, as well as the perimeter ledge that surrounds the Balcón de Europa.

All the tiles will be completely restored to guarantee their aesthetics, respecting the historical character of the monument. The three circular benches surrounding the three large trees on the Balcon de Europa will also be renovated.
