Where to stay – help please?

👉 Nerja Holidays 💖

Hello we are thinking of a trip to Nerja we normally go to Almeria but are looking for a change. And we have read in Nerja Lovers that Nerja is a paradise. I’ve done some research but am a bit confused by the different locations to stay in. Burriana or center? What do you recommend?

We like to be able to walk during the day and evening. We enjoy nice meals/bars especially with outdoor seating and ideally it would like a hotel/apartment with a balcony that gets the sun.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated please?

If you don’t mind walking, you can book in the Burriana beach area. But to go to the center you will have to walk 20 minutes every day you come to the center.

Burriana beach has hotels and apartments. You can rent a villa or apartment in Burriana Beach, or book a room at the Hotel Parador in Nerja.

If you come to the center. Life is different. Mostly in summer. There are hotels and apartments on all the streets of Nerja. I can recommend the Hotel Balcon de Europa if you are staying in the center or Hotel Riu Monica if you prefer on La Torrecilla beach.

Also look for a rental apartment in Nerja.

Best ATM to get Euros in Nerja?

Please can anyone tell me the best ATM to obtain Euros in Nerja. I have a card that doesn’t incur charges. I have always carried money in cash. I need an ATM with low charges and good exchange rate. Thank you.

Hello! Yes, there is an official bank for your card. Normally you will not charge commission in your own ATM. If you have a different card, the bank normally charges a commission of 2 euros: CaixaBank, Santander, BBVA and Deutsche Bank. Liberbank charges a commission of 2.50 euros and Banco Sabadell reaches 3 euros.

But we recommend you pay by card. And the bank makes the conversion into your currency. In most places you don’t need to pay cash.

Nerja in January

Nerja is a beautiful town located on the Costa del Sol, in the province of Málaga, in the south of Spain. It is known for its magnificent beaches, its mild climate and its typical Andalusian charm.

However, visiting Nerja in January can be a little different compared to the summer months, as the temperature is cooler and you may need some extra clothing to keep you warm. The average temperature in January ranges between 10°C and 15°C, although there may be colder days. Additionally, you may experience some rain during your visit, so it is important to bring an umbrella or raincoat.

Despite the lower temperature, there are many interesting things to do and visit in Nerja in January. One of the main attractions of Nerja Costa del Sol is the Cueva de Nerja, an impressive cave system discovered in 1959 and featuring stalagmites, stalactites and cave paintings.
